CEB’s assistance schemes and social tariff for deserving customers

  • Low Voltage Network Extension Government Assistance Scheme

This scheme provides assistance to needy households for the supply of electricity to their first and new residence. It is applicable to households whose income band is less than Rs 17,500.

  • Social Tariff

Special consideration is given to the social dimension of electricity
consumption by households. In this respect, the CEB has in place a Social Tariff (Tariff 110A) which is designed for needy customers. Under this scheme, customers whose monthly consumption does not exceed 75 kWh benefit from concession contracts regarding electricity rates.
